National Medical Librarians Month & Health Literacy Month

October is both National Medical Librarians Month and Health Literacy Month.  The Scotiabank Health Sciences Library and the Patient & Family Learning Centre at St. Michael’s are celebrating all month long with special events, culminating in a Halloween bash!  Remaining events include,

Friday, October 25th – Lunch & Learn: Medical Apps

  • Where: Information Commons (3rd floor, LKSKI)
  • When: 12-1 p.m.
  • Note: No registration is required and a light lunch will be served

Wednesday, October 30th – PFLC Training: “Making the Most of Our Patient Education Resources”

  • Where: Patient & Family Learning Centre, Donnelly Wing Lobby
  • When: 11:30 a.m. OR 1:00 p.m.
  • Note: Each training session is 30 minutes; contact patienteducation@smh.ca to register

Thursday, October 31st – Halloween Celebration hosted by Library & Information Services, including a costume contest/photo booth; trivia trick-or-treating; a house of horrors; and a display of St. Michael’s ghost stories!
