Honouring St. Michael’s Hospital Nurses on Remembrance Day

St. Michael’s Hospital nurses who served overseas in World War 1

On November 11, we observe Remembrance Day and recall the survivors and people who gave their lives to save others. This day was originally called Armistice Day, the anniversary of the Armistice agreement that ended the First World War in 1918.

At the St. Michael’s Hospital Archives, we commemorate this day with an exhibit of historic items from our collection. This exhibit honours St. Michael’s Hospital nurses who served during the First and Second World Wars. The exhibit will be on display in the lobby of the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute for the entire month of November. If you have any questions about the collection, please reach out to our archivist Roxanne.Wildenstein@unityhealth.to
